Haunted Tour - York Town
Haunted Tour - York Town
Welcome to Yorktown Memorial Hospital!
Huge ledges next to the front stairs
The place has been abandoned for years
Massive sign over the front doors
Board of Trustees marker on the front of the building
View of the left side, the labor & delivery wing
Construction marker on the building
Main hallway, administrative wing
One of the first rooms to the left. See that little door that's open on the left? That contains the names of all the doctors who worked there at the time it closed.
More than likely an administrative office
Connected to this room
The entire building is in pieces
These signs are still in place, taped on.
Opening into nurses station
Nurses station counter
Old rotary phone at nurses station
What's on that door?
Do you see something in the glass, or a big bear painted on the door?
There are still supplies boxed up in storage
Most of the rooms still have their room number signs
Bed frame in patients room
Surprisingly a lot of the windows are still intact
Adjustable light in patient room
Possible burned light switch?
Labor & Delivery wing
Dramatization of patient showering featuring Miss US America
Most of the toilets had these bars for assistance
Bizarre setup for a shower head
View through the hole in the nursery
Probably so that formula & medicine could be quickly administered to the newborns
Looking out towards hallway at the window everyone would catch their first glimpse of the newborn
Every bed had one of these lights
Equipment in room adjacent to nursery
Looking in to nursery
Some of the glass didn't fare so well
A clock frozen in time
Door to delivery room
Sink for doctors to wash up
Original gurney in the delivery room...
Countless women gave birth here
Big drain with a hose next to the delivery room
Psychics claim bodies were dumped down this
Showers or sinks?
The nuns ran this hopsital and cooked not only for the patients, but for themselves as well
All original equipment
Some of the dishes were even left
Door to the walk-in freezer
Creepy guy scaring our guests
Light switch for freezer
Pulley system for the dumbwaiter...
...it ran from the kitchen to the basement quarters
Not sure who stayed in the basement...possibly a priest or caretaker?
Patient room setup
Each room had a window and a small heater
Most of this old hospital equipment was brought in
To read X-Ray's on...
Then they would slide them through this tiny door/opening to the next room
Room where the X-Ray's would be slid into
Another gurney sitting in the hallway of the emergency room and surgical wing
This gurney had little slats for straps to tie someone down
On the wall in the emergency room area
After the hospital closed, this building was a substance abuse hospital...we believe this sign is from that era
Clean up room
Ports on wall for different things in the operating room
Pipes...possibly for oxygen?
You would connect the hose here
Gurney in operating room
Old style IV bottles
These clocks are all up and down the hallway
Emergency entrance...this is where the ambulance would drop patients off
Confessional doors in chapel
Inside the confessional in chapel
Organ that was brought in
The chapel was actually a good size
...found in the choir loft
Chairs setup in the choir loft
2nd floor room
Storage cabinets behind counter
The door to this room has opened and closed by itself before
Power junction box
There was a door that leads tot he roof...not sure if this is it or not
Tiny bathtub upstairs
It is believed the nuns who ran this hospital lived upstairs...
...in these quarters.
It's like a small apartment on the 2nd floor
Don't know what these slats were for, you can see out of the apartment to the hallway
Furniture in the quarters
Ceiling fan in the quarters
Library in the quarters
Bathroom upstairs adjacent to the living quarters
Mold on the celing
Workshop in the basement
Hole sealed off for some reason
Capped off wires
Tons of records still here...
...in the basement
Equipment room listing
Only door that cannot be opened...leads to a now flooded elevator shaft
Luckily there's no power hooked up to most of the building...
...cause wires are everywhere!
This is one of the two rooms that is believed to have been the morgue
But why would it be in the same room as the heating system?
Area where they would burn things, there are ashes beneath all of this
Looking up the shaft
Why is there a hole in the floor, and why is there water in it?
Another electrical box
Incinerator door with lever to release ashes
There were low hanging pipes all throughout this room in the basement
This is the second of the two rooms believed to have possibly been the morgue
Another electrical service box, this one in the room that could have been the morgue
These weird looking lights were placed throughout the room uniformly
There is a lot of plumbing in this room...
...most of it capped off like this.
This huge drain in the floor is interesting as well
Closeup of drain
Capped off pipe
Broken glass in door
EVP Session in the 2nd floor living quarters
Bobby on the roof
Red marks on the wall in the 2nd room that could have been the morgue
The sign over the door says "Laundry" though
Visiting Hours sign still pinned up to this day
