Sheriff's Deputy Charged with Drunk Driving

A Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested for drunk driving.

Sheriff's spokesman Chief Paul Berry says Deputy Ricardo Sanchez was asleep in a vehicle in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in the 1100 block of Pat Booker in Universal City.

When a Universal City Police Officer stopped to check on him, he woke up Sanchez, found him to be intoxicated, and arrested him.

He is charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

"The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is aware of the incident and gathering the pertinent information," Berry said.  "We will decide next steps once we have gathered all the facts and the legal system takes its course.
